Southern Shorthaul Railroad (SSR) is a customer orientated rail service operator, maintenance provider and manufacturer which operates throughout New South Wales and Victoria.
SSR NEW SOUTH WALES
SSR offers hook and pull railroad solutions in New South Wales using only highly dependable locomotives, with customer satisfaction and safety of the utmost importance. SSR also offers an extensive range of maintenance and repair services throughout New South Wales for wagons and locomotives.
SSR VICTORIA
In Victoria, SSR offers a wide variety of locomotive and rolling stock maintenance and manufacturing services and is accredited as a rail operator. Based in Bendigo, the Victorian branch of the company has two major facilities with direct access to the broad gauge rail network. As well as servicing the rail network, SSR Victoria also provides heavy engineering and fabrication services for a number of different industries.

Formed in 2003, Southern Shorthaul Railroad (SSR) is a leading provider of hook & pull services in NSW, together with operating a major workshop facility in Bendigo. SSR came about as the result of a successful management buyout of the former Great Northern Rail Services business from CFCL Australia.
SSR has the ability and expertise to provide its customers with a flexible and responsive service-orientated hook & pull solution utilising reliable locomotives. Never letting the customer down is a prime objective of both the rail and workshop business units.
Job security for our employees is of prime importance - our employees are our life blood, and SSR strives to ensure that each employee is proud of their company and is supplied with the necessary equipment to perform their job in a safe and efficient manner. We pay our employees towards the top end of the scale to ensure that we attract and retain the best skilled people that exist.

The Directors understand that they have a moral obligation to ensure that all of the company's activities are conducted in as safe a manner as possible and to not injure our employees.
